My old friend Tish has a place on the Maryland Eastern Shore, and she’s such a great gardener. I photographed this beautiful butterfly frolicking among her butterfly bushes. This is one of the first paintings I started experimenting with texture, with the background being painted and soft, and the butterfly and the bushes standing out with a little texture. It just captures a moment.
